Nick Trevisick Bio

image of Nick TrevisickNick Trevisick is originally from North Devon, England. His music career started at the early age of 13 with drums & guitar then ultimately at age 18 he started working as a touring and studio drummer while working on song writing and production skills. After securing a publishing deal with Island Music of London in 1982, he decided to lay down his drum sticks and enter a full time writing & producing career. Thanks to Lionel Conway, The CEO of Island Music Worldwide for placing one of Nick’s songs with Pat Benatar and under the urging of, then Columbia Records A&R man, David Kahne, Nick relocated to Los Angeles, where for 17 years he enjoyed a successful writing and producing career as a staff writer for Island Music, Polygram Music and Warner Chappell. Nick decided, after going on two writing trips to Nashville, that it would be a good place to raise his two young sons as the countryside reminded him of his own rural upbringing. So in 2000 he bought a house in Brentwood,TN, just south of Nashville, and moved his studio into the basement where many great songs and recordings were conceived.

During his time in Nashville, then A&R guru Reen Nalli heard Nick’s work with the then unsigned Hayley Williams, and immediately started using Nick on a lot of the projects she was working on at Universal — India Arie, Rachael Llampa, Sera Bee, Kris Thomas — to name a few. Reen later introduced Nick to another native of Michigan where she was from, Marshall Block, of Real II Reel Productions. They discovered they had a mutual passion for artist development and the mentoring of new young talent. Marshall invited Nick to become one of the judges and panelists at Launch Showcase a bi-annual talent seminar held in Chicago. There, over the last several years, they forged a firm friendship, and In the spring of 2015 decided to join forces. Nick sold his Nashville studio and moved to Fenton to work alongside Marshall at Real II Reel, Michigan’s world class studio.

The timing couldn't have been better as Nick had recently opened a studio in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia, and was looking for a way to balance his work in S.E. Asia and the USA.

He now splits his time between the two studios, staying very busy and doing what he loves, writing and producing for new young artists.

Nick recently was awarded a Juno and CCMA award for Co-writing and Co-producing the multi-platinum album "Fire It Up" for Johnny Reid. Throughout his long and varied career Nick has been a writer, programmer, and producer on many Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum albums — too many to mention here.
